New lens

I've finally replaced my old kit lens with a Tamron AF 17-50mm f/2.8 SP XR Di II LD Aspherical [IF] - what a cool name for a lens! :) I think I've read nearly every review of this lens and similar ones on the whole internet until I decided that this one would deliver the best performance for my money. I've read that several people had front- or backfocus problems with the Tamron 17-50/2.8 but fortunately my copy always focusses correct (until now at least).

After testing the lens for some days I have to say that it is really as sharp as a tack, even wide open at 2.8. Unfortunately there are some chromatic abberations, especially at 17mm, but this can be fixed within seconds when shooting RAW. I also correct the distortions automatically using Bibble Pro so this is also not a big problem.
